about

the work of artist Jules Bradbury

I find myself looking closer.
I focus on energy, movement and complexity, as I move through the Scottish landscape.
Drawing is key to my practice but in recent years I've begun to develop printmaking, with a particular love for monotype, bringing joyous bursts of colour into my work.

I work in alignment with the seasons, continually making studies, particularly of the plants, forms and colour I encounter. Part of my process often involves sketching outside; I see this as poetic note-taking, informed by my senses.

The way I see things is shaped through living alongside the wild.
My studio is in the hills of the Scottish Borders where I run workshops in experimental drawing and basic print techniques.
